Third way to nowhere: May's new post-Brexit customs plan 'unworkable'

Commenting on the Prime Minister's plans to lay out a 'third way' customs plan in an attempt to bridge the gap between her divided Cabinet, Layla Moran said:

"Theresa May has a warring cabinet unified only by their loathing of her customs fixes. Michael Gove tore the proposal in half upon reading it and David Davis, having already threatened to resign and not followed through five times, has now penned a letter to the Prime Minister calling the idea 'unworkable'.

"It's amateur hour in government. We have just six weeks left of negotiating time before a deal must be struck. These latest half-compromises show a floundering government lacking in any real direction. The time has come for a people's vote with the option to stay in the EU."
