The no 17 bus, which serves Wolvercote, Cutteslowe and Jericho is under threat under proposals being considered by the Conservative-run County Council to make large cuts to subsidised bus services.
The Conservative-run County Council is considering big cuts to all subsidised bus services.
The no 17, which serves Wolvercote, Cutteslowe and Jericho, is under threat.
“This is a vital service for people who live some distance from any other bus service, many of whom are elderly,” said County Councillor for Summertown & Wolvercote Jean Fooks.
The County Council are running a consultation on the changes they are proposing to make to the subsidised bus services. The consultation is open now and will close on 14th September 2015. You can respond to the questionnaire by following the link here: Supported Transport (subsidised buses and Dial-A-Ride) consultation.
Cllr Jean Fooks started a petition asking local residents who want to see the service maintained to show their support by signing. There has been widespread support for the petition already and you can add your name by following the link below.
