PM 'running out of road' after pulling Brexit vote

It's time for this decision to be put in the hands of the public. The people need the final say over Brexit, says Layla as the Prime Minister scraps the planned meaningful votes on her Brexit deal.

Responding to the Prime Minister's statement yesterday, in which she confirmed the meaningful vote in parliament will be delayed, local MP Layla Moran said:

"The Prime Minister has run out of so much road that she's started laying the asphalt herself. Pulling the most important vote of her political career is evidence of that.

"It's no use going back to hold emergency negotiations with the EU - they've already said that idea is dead in the water. There's more confidence in Chris Grayling getting the trains to run on time than Parliament and the country have in this beleaguered government getting a better deal.

"Reassurances aren't good enough. She can promise whatever she wants, but the Prime Minister is serving up a turkey this Christmas.

"The Prime Minister claims to have listened to MPs and the country. The truth is she's only listened to a small group of advisers, just like she did in calling last year's general election.

"It's time for this decision to be put in the hands of the public. The people need the final say over Brexit."
