The Government must move quickly to make sure this doesn't happen."Layla Moran has responded to reports that the Government has abandoned their pledge to test all care home residents regularly throughout the summer.

Layla Moran MP is chairing the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) into the Government's response to the coronavirus pandemic which will publish its final recommendations by the end of summer.

Layla said "Care homes should be fortresses in the fight against COVID. Instead, the UK Government seems happy to leave the drawbridge down.

"By not regularly testing in our care homes residents and staff are being needlessly exposed and being put in danger. The Government must move quickly to make sure this doesn't happen."

The APPG is taking evidence from the public, bereaved families, health experts, and professional bodies. The APPG sat for the first time three weeks ago and launched its rapid inquiry on 13th July 2020.
