“We have to do everything we can to keep the heroes in our health service safe.” Layla Moran MP
Layla has urged all of Oxfordshire's MPs to join her in backing the EveryDoctor campaign to protect NHS workers after she had been contacted by doctors in her constituency asking her to back the campaign. Layla's call comes after the Daily Express voiced its support for her cross-party campaign to introduce a Coronavirus Compensation Scheme for frontline workers who die from coronavirus during the pandemic.
The pledge’s five demands are:
- Readily available healthcare worker testing
- Personal protective equipment for all healthcare workers in line with WHO standards
- Death-in-service benefits for all NHS staff
- Sick pay for locum healthcare workers
- Hospital accommodation for those living with vulnerable people
Layla Moran MP for Oxford West and Abingdon said: “I am 100% backing the EveryDoctor campaign to protect our NHS workers — we have to do everything we can to keep the heroes in our health service safe.
“I would urge other MPs in Oxfordshire to add their voice to this campaign because by coming together we can get the Government to ensure these five requests from our frontline doctors are met.
“I’d like to thank every single NHS worker in our county and across the country — you deserve all the help the Government can give, and the EveryDoctor demands are entirely reasonable.”
