Layla Moran, Lib Dem MP for Oxford West and Abingdon, has tabled a motion in Parliament to “thank Oxford United FC on behalf of the whole community” for their efforts in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tabling the Motion Layla Moran MP said: “I want to thank Oxford United FC on behalf of the whole community for all their efforts in responding to this pandemic."
“Not only have they provided local mental health support and sent face masks across the county thanks to club staff and volunteers, but they’ve provided an inspiration for all of us in the area. I tabled this motion in Parliament to make sure they get the thanks they deserve.”
The motion says that “this House expresses its gratitude to the efforts of the staff at Oxford United Football Club during the covid-19 pandemic”. It goes on to highlight the role the football club in providing local mental health support and sending face masks across Oxfordshire.
